HAY!

What's goin' on here?!...

Well, I'll be leaving soon
on my own little strawbale adventure.

(Soon!, soon! . . . but not soon enough . . .)

. . . and when I do,
my 'net account will disappear along with me.

So will this site.

("What?! No more Surfin' StrawBale?!")
(*weep, sorrow*)

WAIT! THERE'S GOOD NEWS!

The whole thing's still available,
and will continue to be for all time!

It's found new, permanent homes
at not just one... and not just two...
but at THREE outstanding locations!

Many, many thanks go to remarkable Norbert Senf of
the Masonry Heater Association of North America,
amazing Sara Mock of
Rancho Technophobia,
and the Premier Source Of Everything Strawbale, The Last Straw
for making sure that this compilation will continue to be available!

In its very short 105-day run at this location, Surfin' StrawBale enjoyed visits from just over 2800 people who were curious about strawbale construction;
that's an average of 26-2/3 unique visits a day.

Frankly, I was surprised by the amount of attention that it received.

So what does that teach us?

That there's a helluva lotta people out there who think that it just might be a pretty good idea;
so much so that they're willing to dig around a little bit to find info about it.

Why? Are they nuts?

Hardly.
It's a proven technology with nearly century-old houses still standing and occupied;
it can help significantly reduce construction and maintenance costs;
it makes excellent use of what is otherwise generally considered a waste product;
and the list goes on.

I applaud you nuts,
and am proud to be among your ranks.

So thanks for coming,
and I wish the best to all of you
and all your plans.

Oh yeah, please change your bookmarks.

But before you go...

could you do me (and those to come) one BIG favor
and drop a quick line to the page that referred you here?
I ask this because of the number of people that seem to have found this resource valuable.
I've sent updates to all the sites I'm aware of that have links,
but I know that not all of them have been updated.
If the site hosts that haven't fixed the URL yet are reminded a few times,
they'll likely change it.

...big evil grin...

That way, the people coming behind you won't end up at a dead end...

Thanks!
