Our March meeting will be on Sunday, February 25th. To paraphrase Travis, if Octoberfest can be in September why can't BANG's March meeting be in February? The Brattleboro Area Natural-building Group (BANG) will be meeting at 4pm in room 2 East of the Marlboro Tech Center (next to the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, which is across the street from the co-op).
We will watch and discuss the second half (or so) of Building With Awareness: the Construction of a Hybrid Home. I think it will be as interesting to those of you who missed the first half as for those of you who were there. The plot's not too complex, here's what you missed: Boy designs passive solar 800 square foot house. Boy digs foundation. Boy pours floor. Boy installs rainwater cistern. Boy builds adobe interior walls. Boy does most of the framing. Audience stops disc. Audience discusses which things they would have done differently, which things were specific to New Mexico, and how much they appreciate the fact that the house is a good size, unlike the 4,000 square foot strawbale house being built on the "Building Green" series on PBS (not connected to BuildingGreen Inc., publishing from Brattleboro).
Still to come: straw bale, electrical (including PV), windows and insulation etc., plasters, finish work, conclusion. If I recall correctly, there's a particularly good bit where Keely Meagan comes and plasters a wall with white earth plaster.

Looking forward to seeing you there,

We are such natural-building geeks that we didn't even realize that our previous meeting overlapped the Superbowl. Sorry about that, sports fans!
